    MIDI Sequencing

Many people tell me that they hate the sound of a Drum Machine or a MIDI Sequence being played - too perfect - sounds unnatural - no 'feel'. Often they are right, however you can't ignore MIDI Sequences or Drum Machines - they are everywhere and to be honest with you, often sound great when used effectively. You may not even know what you are listening to was done on a Sequencer or used a Drum Machine - sometimes its obvious or intentional.

I have done a lot of sequencing over the years, both on dedicated MIDI sequencer hardware and on an IBM Compatible PC. I use these tools to help organized the music I want to perform, and have it come out the way I want it to sound. You may want to do similar things - if so, I'll share some of what I've done and give you some start points to work from. I'll also suggest that you consider collaborating with other people - this allows you to share their strengths and perspectives as you build songs or other types of music. Keep an open mind and see what you can create.
