Speaker Wiring;
Impedance Calculator

12/98 (updated 11/04) - Jens Moller - http://www.colomar.com/Shavano/impedance_info.php
Trying to estimate the load placed in your amplifier can be hard to do, however, once you figure it out, you normally use this configuration from that point on. Sometimes you need to have numerous configurations. This application will allow you to specify speakers (or cabinets with speakers in them) and configure them until you figure out which arrangement works best. Make sure that you never create a load that has a lower impedance than your amplifier can handle.
The following application will calculate the load of a given set of speakers wired in some combination of Series, Parallel or both Series and Parallel. Please enter the impedance (not the DC resistance) for how you plan to configure them.

Put in values where you plan to put a speaker. Any values left blank will be ignored by the program. This will calculate a Total Load in Ohms. Any negative values are ignored.

Please fill in the following Information.

Series - Row 1:---

Series - Row 2:---

Series - Row 3:---

Series - Row 4:---

Total Load in Ohms (Impedance):
Rows 1 thru 4 connected in Parallel
